Our most-requested program is back for the new school year. STEAM Saturdays — half-day enrichment sessions that blend science, technology, engineering, art, and math with a healthy dose of storytelling — return to partner schools this fall.
If you’ve never seen one, picture a cafeteria transformed: cardboard everywhere, a low hum of “what if we tried…”, and a lot of kids who forgot they were technically learning.
What to expect this season
- Cardboard marble runs — gravity, slopes, and a surprising amount of teamwork.
- Watercolor constellations — art meets astronomy, with a story for every star pattern.
- Tiny bridges, big loads — an engineering challenge that ends in a very satisfying crunch.
- Story machines — kids build a contraption, then write the tale of what it does.
Sessions are free for students at partner schools and led by trained volunteers. Families will receive sign-up details from their school coordinator in the coming weeks.
